Assessing NO2-Hydrocarbon Interactions during Combustion of NO2/Alkane/Ar Mixtures in a Shock Tube Using CO Time Histories

چکیده

Modern gas turbines use combustion chemistry during the design phase to optimize their efficiency and reduce emissions of regulated pollutants such as NOx. The detailed understanding interactions NOx natural is therefore necessary for this optimization step. To better assess interactions, NO2 was used a sole oxidant oxidation CH4 C2H6 (the main components gas) in shock tube. evolution CO mole fraction followed by laser-absorption spectroscopy from dilute mixtures at around 1.2 atm. experimental profiles were compared several modern kinetics mechanisms literature: models tuned characterize NOx-hydrocarbons base-chemistry (C0–C4) that contain sub-mechanism, nitromethane model. comparison between showed most NOx-hydrocarbon are not very accurate, while base lacking accuracy overall well. model one hydrocarbon/NOx relatively good agreement with data over entire range conditions investigated, although there still room improvement. numerical analysis results considered predict same reaction pathways fuels CO, they can be inconsistent selection rate coefficients. This variation especially true ethane, which larger disagreement generally observed.

Surface Tension Prediction of Hydrocarbon Mixtures Using Artificial Neural Network

In this study, artificial neural network was used to predict the surface tension of 20 hydrocarbon mixtures. Experimental data was divided into two parts (70% for training and 30% for testing). Optimal configuration of the network was obtained with minimization of prediction error on testing data. The accuracy of our proposed model was compared with four well-known empirical equations. The arti...
